At A Turning Point, we’re able to serve our community because of people like you—those who care enough to give. Every donation, whether it’s a dollar, a can of food, or a new winter coat, helps provide stability, dignity, and hope to our neighbors in need. If you’ve ever wondered how you can make a difference, here are several easy ways to support A Turning Point and the programs that change lives every day.

For this quarter only, A Turning Point is honored to be part of the Target Circle program! Every time you shop at Target—in store, online, or through the app—you earn Target Circle votes. You can use those votes to support A Turning Point, and the more votes we receive, the larger the donation Target will make to our organization.

It’s easy and free to participate—just log in to your Target Circle account at target.com/circle, find A Turning Point under “Community Giving,” and cast your votes before the quarter ends.

Give Through Thrivent Choice

If you’re a Thrivent client with membership, you may be eligible to direct Thrivent Choice Dollars® to A Turning Point. This program allows Thrivent members to recommend where Thrivent’s charitable outreach funds go—at no extra cost to you. By choosing A Turning Point as your designated organization, you help us continue feeding families, providing clothing, and supporting those working toward brighter futures. To direct your Choice Dollars, simply visit thrivent.com/thriventchoice or call Thrivent directly. Choice Dollars can be directed until March 31 of the following year, so don’t let them expire unused!

Round Up at Walmart

Everyday purchases can have extraordinary impact through the Walmart Spark Good Round Up program. When shopping online at Walmart.com or through the Walmart app, you can choose to round up your total to the nearest dollar and donate the change to A Turning Point. It’s an easy way to make generosity a habit—one that adds up to real change over time. You can even set A Turning Point as your preferred charity so you’re automatically prompted to round up with each purchase.

Donate Directly to A Turning Point

If you prefer to give directly, we welcome financial gifts by cash, check, or online through our website. Donations can be made anytime at www.aturningpointkc.org or in person at our office. Every dollar you give supports our four key programs: the food pantry, wardrobe, academy, and guesthouse. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring donation, your contribution ensures we can continue meeting the needs of families and individuals across our community.

Give Goods That Help Our Neighbors

In-kind donations are another meaningful way to support A Turning Point. We gladly accept nonperishable food, new or gently used clothing, and items that benefit those experiencing homelessness, such as blankets, coats, socks, hygiene kits, and personal care products. During the holiday season, we also collect brand new gifts for our annual Christmas Store, which allows families to choose presents for their loved ones with dignity and joy.All items can be dropped off at our office during regular hours, and large donations can be scheduled in advance by calling our team. We also keep an updated wish list on our website so you can see our most needed items.
