       ACADEMY

 

A Turning Point Academy is an adult alternative to the GED to earn a high school diploma. The Academy offers life skills training classes. Volunteers can tutor/mentor, teach a life skills class, grade papers, file, make copies, assist with technology, and much more. Our Academy is located at 5105 NW Waukomis Dr. KC, MO 64151. Academy hours are Tuesdays 5 - 7 pm, Wednesdays 10 am - 2 pm & 5 - 7 pm, and Thursdays 10 am - 2 pm.

       FOOD PANTRY

The food pantry is open every Tuesday from 5:00-6:30, Saturday from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. and Thursday from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Volunteers of all ages can come help serve by assisting clients, filling orders, registration/check-in, clean-up, and interaction with clients.  Food pantry is located at 5105 NW Waukomis Drive KC, MO 64151.

       WARDROBE

 

A Turning Point's Wardrobe is open on the first Saturday of each month from 9 - 11 a.m. and the third Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and the fourth Thursdays from 1:30-2:30. Volunteers help clients "shop" for necessary clothing from our donated clothing supplies. There are also other times for volunteers to serve by cleaning, hanging, folding, & sorting clothes. All ages are welcome to help.

Hillcrest Hope offers families restoration and redemption through a transitional housing program, counseling services, employment search, and more. A Turning Point partners with Hillcrest in sponsoring an apartment and providing basic supplies for clients.

Family Promise partners with Northland churches to provide shelter, meals, and comprehensive support services to local families without homes.  A Turning Point hosts families for a week at a time four times a year as part of this partnership. Volunteers can donate/cook food, provide fellowship, host overnight, & many other tasks. All ages are welcome!

       FACILITY

A Turning Point's facility is at 5105 NW Waukomis Drive KC, MO 64151. There are endless tasks volunteers can be involved in:  being on a mowing team, routine cleaning or deep seasonal cleaning, helping renovate building for programming, and maintenance jobs. All ages are welcome to help.
