A Turning Point is a non-profit corporation and is operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

A Turning Point started in 2018 at it's current location off I-29 and Waukomis with only a Food Pantry and Wardrobe.  It has quickly grown to expand into the Academy as well as various support groups.  In 2019 they were voted "Best Charitable Organization" in the Northland and received the Circle of Hope award from Harvesters in 2018.

A Turning Point's mission is to support families by providing basic needs & education equipping them for self-sufficiency. We believe that is best accomplished by helping those in need to help themselves. Our goal is to provide a hand up in myriad ways and our approach is two-fold:

First, to partner with organizations and agencies to provide the best services to the Northland communities as possible through combining our resources or referring clients to appropriate agencies and services.

Secondly, A Turning Point continuously researches and assesses needs in the community, looking to provide services and make connections to fill gaps and creating unique programs to our repertoire of services.
